The
origin of the name of this sundial is obvious, as it is made by rings.
On the bar fixed to the outer ring, a calendar had been engraved , and inside the calendar a cursor slides until its line of faith is set to the day the reading is taken. The suspended sundial must be oriented until the sun ray, through the hole on the cursor of the calendar, falls on the inner side of the inner ring where the hours band had been engraved. |
