CALENDAR
It is based on Brocot design where a main lever moves through other levers all the hands. The main lever is moved once a day and wishing not to complicate the motion work by which usually it receives its motion , bearing in mind that my barrel wheels too make one turn in one day, I fixed a pin on the rim of the front wheel, pin which engages the main lever at its passage. On the main lever are articulated 4 levers, one for the hand of the month, the second for the day of the week, another for the day of the month and the forth helps the former to perform the change of the date of the months with 28,29 & 30 days. MOON PHASES The moon phase arbor takes its motion from the day of the week arbor and by mean of a 10/84-75/113 gears train makes one turn every three lunation. It is possible to see how the moon phase daily progresses, through a round window
EQUATION OF TIME Try to figure out dividing a circle in 365 parts. Figure out 365 rays passing thought each one of those points. Figure out the value of the ray of that circle to be the one of Equation of time (EoT) with zero value.
For more than one reasons beyond my control, I have not yet checked if my introductory statement is true. But I'm confident that future testing will confirm my beliefs. Bibliography |
