orrery

Orreries are instruments used to show the position of stars in the sky.
They were developed not only to satisfy scientific purposes, but mainly to the desire of wealthy men (the only people reach enough to commission them, due to their high costs) .

They were so used to decorate their beautiful houses.

At its former stage orreries wheel work was kept in motion by hand, an later by mechanical clock.

In this case there was anyway a chance to give the stars a dynamic motion by hands.
